Reviewing What You Have Learned

Hongera — congratulations! You have come a long way. Before you build your personal toolkit and share what you know, let us take a moment to look back at the full journey and celebrate everything you can now do with AI.

The Journey So Far

When you started this course, AI might have felt like something for engineers in Silicon Valley or rich companies in Westlands. Now you know the truth: AI is a practical tool for every Kenyan — the student preparing for exams in Kisumu, the job seeker crafting a CV in Mombasa, the entrepreneur writing a proposal in Eldoret.

🗺️
Your Learning Map — Units 1 to 9

Unit 1: What AI is — and what it is not. You learned to separate hype from reality and understand that AI tools are trained on patterns in data, not magic.

Unit 2: How to choose the right AI tool. ChatGPT, Gemini, Meta AI — each has strengths, and knowing which to use is itself a valuable skill.

Unit 3: The art of prompting. CRISPE, iterative refinement, the zoom-in technique — your prompts now get you real results.

Unit 4: AI for studying. Summarising notes, generating practice questions, explaining difficult concepts in Swahili.

Unit 5: AI for writing and communication. Drafting professional emails, WhatsApp messages, and formal documents that sound confident and polished.

Unit 6: AI for research and fact-checking. The SIFT method, lateral reading, verifying with Kenyan primary sources, and spotting deepfakes.

Unit 7: AI for creativity and content. Generative AI, social media content, and the five-step business builder workflow.

Unit 8: AI and your data. Privacy, the Kenya Data Protection Act, and practical steps to protect yourself every day.

Unit 9: Thinking critically about AI. Hype signals, bias in AI systems, and the future of work in Kenya.

Skills You Now Have

  • Prompt engineering: You can write prompts that get useful, specific answers rather than generic responses.
  • Tool selection: You know that different AI tools serve different purposes — a writing assistant is not the same as an image generator or a coding tool.
  • Critical evaluation: You can read an AI response and ask: Is this accurate? Is this complete? Does this need verification?
  • Practical application: You have used AI for real tasks — drafting a CV, summarising a difficult text, brainstorming business ideas.
  • Responsible use: You understand what not to share with AI tools and why that matters for your privacy and security.
💡
The Most Important Skill of All
You have learned how to learn with AI. The specific tools available today will change — some will improve, some will disappear, new ones will appear. But the ability to pick up a new AI tool, test it critically, and apply it to a real problem — that skill belongs to you and does not expire.

What Kenyan Employers and Educators Are Noticing

In 2024 and 2025, Kenyan employers began listing "AI literacy" and "prompt engineering" as desirable skills — even in roles that have nothing to do with technology. A marketing assistant who can use AI to draft campaign copy faster, a customer service agent who uses AI to write better responses, an accountant who uses AI to summarise long reports — these workers stand out.

Reflect Before You Continue
Think back to the first day of this course. What is one thing you can now do that you could not do before? Write it down — on paper, in your phone notes, anywhere. That one thing is evidence of real growth. In the next lesson, you will build on it.

What Comes Next in This Unit

This capstone unit has three more steps. In Lesson 2, you will assemble your own personal AI toolkit — the specific tools and prompts that match your goals, whether that is finding a job, starting a business, or continuing your studies. In Lesson 3, you will practice teaching one concept to someone else, which is the fastest way to deepen your own understanding. And in Lesson 4, you will submit a short capstone project that demonstrates what you have built.

By the end of this unit, you will not just have finished a course — you will have a personal AI system that works for your life, ready to use every day.
